Eduardo Niebla Duo
Spanish guitarist and composer Eduardo Niebla is one of the most brilliant and emotive performers on the world circuit today, fusing flamenco gypsy jazz with Arabic, Indian, Latin and classical influences.
Born in Tangiers of Andalusian parents on the 29th July 1955, Eduardo is the seventh son in a family of eleven, nearly all of whom are talented artists or musicians. Two of them, his brothers Jose (a painter) and Salvador (a drummer) along with Eduardo, are Internationally acclaimed and respected artists. EDUARDO NIEBLA, maestro guitarist and composer, fuses his exhilarating flamenco gypsy jazz with Indian, Arabic, Latin and contemporary jazz influences to sensational effect.
He is touring the world circuit with his fabulous ensembles. Niebla’s first musical encounter was with his brother’s accordion at the age of five. Three years later, his older brother Antonio gave him his first guitar. By this time the family had moved to Gerona in the Northeast of Spain (Catalonia). Since the the 90's Eduardo and his family lives at the country side North Yorkshire in the UK.
In addition Eduardo has collaborated with many international musicians on their recordings including maestro bamboo flute player DEEPAK RAM on Searching for Satyam, which subsequently won best instrumental album at the 2000 South African Music Awards.
He has worked with Craig David, George Michael and Belinda Carlisle, as well as numerous other artists, and is currently collaborating with Ben Watkins of juno reactor (composer for the Matrix films) on his new recording. His concerts appearances have included the Olympic Games Greece, The Tbilisi International Jazz Festival, Glastonbury Festival and the City of London Festival in the UK, in addition to numerous international festivals throughout Europe and the Baltic States. He has undertaken extensive concert tours to Eastern and Western Europe, the Middle East and South Africa and has received great critical acclaim.
