We are happy to announce John McLaughlin won the prestigious Haafiz Ali Khan Award 2009 for his contribution to the world of music ! "It is humbling to be put in the illustustrious line-up of people who have received this award," says Mc Laughlin. The past receipts include M. S. Subbulakshmi, Ustad Bismillah Khan, Ustad Vilayat Khan, Anne Sophie Mutter, John Williams, Julian Bream, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi amongst others.

The 4th Dimension Band (John McLaughlin, Etienne Mbappé, Gary Husband, Mark Mondésir) was in studio at the end of November to record their new album, featuring the new bass player Etienne Mbappé. The album will be released for their European Tour in April-May 2010 (label Mediastarz). The list of concerts is announced in this newsletter in the Concerts Sections, we will attend the major cities and festivals in Europe.

The Band will also tour in the US in Nov-Dec 2010 a tour booked by our US partner Ted Kurland & Associates.

We are glad to announce "Five Peace Band – Live Chick Corea & John McLaughlin" got a Grammy Nomination as Best Jazz Instrumental Album of the year.
