PA System:

Powerful high quality amplification is of crucial importance for Trilok Gurtu's drum sound. The spec below is for venues of 700+ seats, if its a smaller venue tell us what you have, nevertheless what is below is a good guide for numbers of channels and effects unit required.

Front of House:

3 or 4 way System: Christian Hell, D&B, Turbosound, Meyer… driven by professional amplifiers, Crossovers and stereo graphic EQ (no parametric, no digital) must be accessible to engineer. The full PA system must be on a separate and independent phase of mains, and free from buzz, hum and interference.

Minimum 36-4-2 Desk: Midas Heritage XL200, Soundcraft, Vienna II, Yamaha PM4000 (no digital) 4 channels of Compression – BSS, DBX, DRAWMER 3 digital effects: Lexicon PCM; TC Electronics, SPX1000 CD Player, talkback to stage, comms to monitor

Monitors:

8 x monitor speakers,
Minimum 36 channels desk quality as specified for FOH - Alternative operation from FOH board
acceptable in smaller venues
Minimum of 8 wedges (including listening cue) on 8 mixes 31 band graphic EQ inserted on each mix (no digital, no parametric)
+ 1 extra monitor mix for In-Ear Monitor

The said equipment should be set up in accordance with attached patch plot and channel list prior to artist’s load in. Multicore must be complete, effects and inserts connected, and the system EQ'd to suit the auditorium. The front of house mixing desk must be in a central position in the house, directly in front of the stage, not close to a wall or under a balcony.
The promoter must provide an experienced monitor engineer + a light engineer for the light system.

4 Backline:

The promoter has to provide the backline equipment and ensure that it is set up according to the stage plot prior to the artist's load in.

2 PA Technicians, 1 Lighting Operator

LOAD OUT:

2 Stagehands

IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE CONCERT to load-out artist’s equipment –

this takes priority over other tasks.
